Adjustable Stretch
The Verituner allows you to set your own preferences for the amount of octave stretch in your tuning through its Style option. Each style sets the widths for various octave types and where they are to be used. There are 3 built-on Styles:

Average Moderate stretch. It is the most generic tuning and is probably the best choice for the majority of tunings.
CleanThe least stretch. It may be a better choice for spinets and very small grands.
ExpandedThe greatest amount of stretch. Use it on concert grands when wider octaves are desired.

One of the more powerful features of the Verituner 100 is the ability to create what is called a Custom Style. Custom Styles are created through the Style Editor. You specify the exactly the type of octaves you want to hear, and where in the piano you want to hear them. The Verituner™ then calculates tuning frequencies using the beat rates of coincident partials from these intervals, just like in aural tuning. These calculations are made with an advanced goal-seeking and refinement algorithm which finds the best compromises for all intervals and achieves a tuning of your preferred stretch. You can choose between different types of single, double and triple octaves, and the beat rates for each. Weightings are used so that compromises can be made among different interval types. The Verituner™ blends your preferences to make a perfectly smooth tuning. Once a style is created, it can saved for use over and over again on different pianos.
